dramatic irony examples
List some examples of dramatic irony in the work of Sophocles' Antigone.?

and please dont tell me to go google it, that doesn't really help.

First, start with the definition of dramatic irony, which is a situation in which the public has more information than the character on stage. Usually the information relates to the fate of the character Ulitmate. For example, in Romeo and Juliet, we know that Juliet is not really dead, but not Romeo and actions based on the limited information that has lead to death. Dramatic irony also builds the tension and the feeling in the audience. A character suicide because his one true love is dead is sad but the audience is much more sad, because we know she's still alive. Antigone specefic? Well … Tiresias, Creon says exactly what will happen if his sentence is enforced against Antigone. And before Creon's own son says that will hurt Anitogne end the life of another, but not of Creon, which presages the end in no uncertain terms. The whole time is known as an audience that Creon is wrong, and is taking disastrous decisions, but did not know until it's too late. And then he lost his son and his wife in the business too.
