Ugly Betty is an American comedy drama television series created by Silvio Horta, which premiered on ABC on 28 September 2006. The series revolves around Betty Suarez, an unattractive girl, quiet and compatible job in the ultra-chic New York fashion magazine Mode.
The conventional role and the chief proponent of the image is Betty Suarez (America Ferrera), a recent college more expected to emerge in the publishing business. The program also focuses on the strength of her boss Daniel Meade (Eric Mabius), a wealthy man-about-town who is given the post of chief editor of the beginner mode, owner of magazine. Hardy of the program is Wilhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams), creative director of Mode, which is constantly exposed to usurp the position of Daniel in the manner and take charge of printing the family empire.

The family consists of father Bradford Meade (Alan Dale), a distant man with an account of infidelity, the mother of Claire (Judith Light), an alcoholic who serves as a mother figure and a rival for Betty Wilhelmina and older sister Alexis (Rebecca Romijn), a homosexual manly female that has a plot of his father and brother. Bradford quit the program during its second season, Christina and Alexis both go for the taste of others.
