Blackberry Pearl organizing function?

I have a Blackberry Pearl and have installed the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software on my PC. How does the organizer synchronization? Is sync w / Outlook organizer? Do I have to install any other organizer? Basically want to get into things in my organizer on my computer and then sync with my BlackBerry.

The Desktop Manager is a program like the average man who takes the information from an organizer (like Microsoft Outlook) and synchronizes with your BlackBerry device. You can set it for one-way or two-way synchronization.
